Upper West Side Family Session
We began our photo session at Riverside Park, surrounded by the stunning orange fall foliage. After a swift outfit change at home, we hailed a classic yellow cab to their favorite soccer field on 71st Street. As the kids had a blast playing, we captured some awesome action shots. And we finished the session taking beautiful family photos by the water. It was a pretty perfect fall photoshoot in NYC.
Coordinated Outfits & Soccer Fun
We loved the colors of the outfits this family chose—red and blue worked really well with the natural fall hues of the leaves. While we don’t encourage everyone to match exactly, a little coordination can make a big difference. The boys are all about soccer, so it totally made sense to include a soccer field in the session. We always make sure to talk with our families and brainstorm together about the location to find the perfect fit. It’s all about making sure the space feels right for everyone, so everyone can feel comfortable and have fun during the shoot.
The Magic of Late Afternoon Light
Another key to getting those great shots is the timing of the session. Late afternoon is always ideal for us, giving us that gorgeous golden light that adds such a warm, magical feel to the photos. It’s a subtle detail, but it makes all the difference in capturing the moments in a way that feels timeless and beautiful.
